Guide to the Legalisation Requirements of Antigua & Barbuda

Apostille, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Legalisation, London Notary Public, Notary Advice, Notary Public London

Documents for use in Antigua and Barbuda require legalisation by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (“FCO”).

Documents lodged before 2pm at the Legalisation Office of the FCO can be returned fully legalised the same day. An Apostille Certificate requires a legalisation fee of £75 per document.

The FCO has two legalisation offices. The public legalisation office is situated in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. The FCO will usually charge £30 per Apostille certificate. Documents will usually need to be signed before a London Notary Public and then notarised in advance of being presented to the FCO.

The FCO has another office situated at Admiralty Arch, in London. This FCO office is only open to Notary Publics and a few other businesses for the premium legislation service only. The FCO will charge £75 per Apostille. The premium legalisation service is not open to members of the public, however notaries can lodge documents on behalf of clients who wish to utilise the service.
